Home water purification systems are designed to process your
mains water supply into a clean and hygienic filtered state
which is delivered to every tap and outlet in your home. Given
the water we drink is directly related to our general health
and well being we should all be conscious of the water we
consume and strive to have the best drinking water available in
our homes.
Why?
Well, a recent survey conducted in the US summarised that there
are over 2,000 toxic chemicals within the water supply some of
which have been linked to cancer causing illnesses. The overall
quality of your home drinking water will have a direct effect
upon you and your family’s health which is why home water
purification systems are becoming increasingly more
popular.
It is no surprise to some that just about any category of
chemical can find its way into our water supplies given that we
continue to use the same water sources again and again and
continually recycle our water supply each time cleansing it
with further chemicals along with the earth’s natural filtering
process. The majority of municipal water treatment plants are
old and inadequate and do not compare with the results gained
from home water purification systems for today's needs and the
addition of chlorine to the treated water is used in an attempt
to bring the quality of the water up to governments strict
guidelines.
In their defence, the chemicals contained within our water
supply are said to contain 'trace' elements which are not
therefore classed as harmful. However, in most circumstances
this argument is not balanced by the variation and quantity of
toxic 'traces' in our water supply. The more trace elements of
toxins identified the further risk there is to our health.
There are currently two distinct versions of home water
purification systems on the market today namely a water
filtration system and reverse osmosis system. Both offer
effective mains supply water filtering although the reverse
osmosis technology tends to remove the valued essential
minerals from the water examples of which are clacium,
magnesium and potassium. For this reason it is widely accepted
that filtered units are the most effective at providing a clean
and efficient home water supply reducing the amount of harmful
toxins whilst retaining the beneficial minerals within the
water.
If you were not convinced that home water purification systems
are needed in your home then try a home water test yourself.
These home testing kits are inexpensive and relatively accurate
so pop down to your local hardware store and pick one up; you
will be surprised with the results!
